When training changes lives

Formation chez TAQ - Participation sociale

At Groupe TAQ, providing meaningful employment opportunities to people with disabilities is important. But helping them develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives is just as essential.

That is why we invest in training opportunities that go far beyond job-related learning. Through the Social Participation Program, offered in partnership with Centre Louis-Jolliet, we provide our workers with meaningful opportunities to strengthen both their practical skills and interpersonal abilities in a supportive environment tailored to their needs.

Because we believe these learning experiences are an integral part of our employees’ journey, participants are paid while attending training sessions.

Learning that supports everyday success

The training courses cover a wide range of topics that directly support participants’ personal, social and professional development, including:

  • Managing personal finances wisely (using content from Desjardins’ educational program Personal Finance: I’m in charge);
  • Safe and responsible use of social media;
  • Healthy lifestyle habits;
  • Interpersonal relationships;
  • Communication and everyday independence.

A partnership built to last

For several years, Groupe TAQ has partnered with Centre Louis-Jolliet in the Capitale-Nationale region to offer training programs tailored to the realities of our workforce. This valuable partnership helps create learning experiences that are accessible, relevant and people-centered.

“Thanks to our partnership with Groupe TAQ since 2013, we are proud to support their workers not only in workplace integration and job retention, but also throughout their learning journey, personal growth and the celebration of their achievements.”

Jean-Christophe Trottier
Educational Development Advisor, Centre Louis-Jolliet

Real benefits for participants

These training opportunities generate many benefits for participants, including:

  • Greater independence;
  • Increased self-confidence;
  • Improved ability to manage everyday situations;
  • Stronger social skills;
  • Enhanced social and digital inclusion;
  • Better understanding of their rights, responsibilities and available resources;
  • The adoption of habits that contribute to overall well-being.

Beyond the skills acquired, these training sessions also create opportunities for connection, recognition and personal growth.

The impact in numbers

The impact of this initiative is also reflected in participation levels.

During the 2025–2026 fiscal year:

  • 93 employees participated in training offered in collaboration with Centre Louis-Jolliet;
  • A total of 2,937 training hours were completed between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.

These numbers highlight the importance Groupe TAQ places on the personal and social development of its workers.

More than a workplace

At Groupe TAQ, we believe a workplace can also be a place where people grow and thrive. The training opportunities offered through the Social Participation Program are one concrete example of this commitment.

By investing in the overall development of individuals, we contribute not only to their professional success, but also to their personal fulfillment. Because beyond work, everyone deserves an environment where they can learn, grow, build confidence and reach their full potential.
