ABOUT OUR CEO

Gabriel Tremblay – CEO

Gabriel Tremblay, PDG de Groupe TAQ

Biography

An inspiring social entrepreneur, Gabriel has been involved in the world of social enterprises for over 35 years, either as the leader of adapted companies or as head of the provincial association (CQEA). A true change-maker, he has contributed to the creation of more than 2,000 quality jobs for people with disabilities.

For the past 13 years, he has been leading Groupe TAQ with a single objective in mind: to provide everyone with a disability who wishes to work the opportunity to do so in a positive and inclusive environment. Surrounded by his dynamic team, he has spearheaded numerous strategic investments, three private company acquisitions, and the unification with another struggling adapted enterprise. Under his leadership, Groupe TAQ’s revenues have grown from $2.8 million to $20 million, and the number of employees has increased from 182 to 461.

Gabriel is also a passionate athlete. He has participated in several Ironman 70.3 competitions and running events, as well as multiple editions of the 1,000 KM of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie. Over the years, his commitment has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars in support of specialized schools in the region. Driven by a strong sense of collaboration, he has also inspired his team members to take part in various editions of the Boucle du GDPL, team and solo triathlons (including in Duchesnay), as well as running and mountain biking events.

Gabriel has notably been recognized as the Jury’s Favorite in the 2021 CEO of the Year contest presented by Les Affaires, and as the regional winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Grand Prize in 2022. Through his innovative leadership, Gabriel continues to transform the lives of people with disabilities by offering them dignity and a rightful place in society.
